About Sheridan Nurseries
In the early 1920s, the first seasonal garden centres or "sales stations" opened their doors. One location was near Yonge and Bloor in Toronto, while another was on Southdown Road in Mississauga. Today, the Mississauga location continues to operate as one of Canada's largest integrated retail and trade gardening centres. By 2003, other garden centres followed suit on Yonge Street in Toronto (1950), in Unionville (1967), Kitchener (1978), and Glen Williams (1994). After acquiring Weall and Cullen Nursery, Sheridan Nurseries expanded to Whitby, Scarborough, and Etobicoke. Today, Sheridan Nurseries is a local grower, wholesaler, and retailer of plants, garden supplies, outdoor furniture, and home décor products. It's one of the largest sources for annual flowers, perennials, and nursery stock varieties across southern Ontario. Many plants are grown locally in Glen Williams and Norval, Ontario. The passion for innovation continues as new plant varieties are tested and introduced. Modern processes that improve growing efficiency and environmental responsibility are regularly added.
